How to read this

Filament is sold in 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg and 5 kg spools and in multi-packs, which makes the sticker price useless for comparison. Dividing the price by the total weight gives the only number that matters: dollars per kilogram. A standard 1 kg spool of PLA from a well-known brand usually lands between $13 and $25 per kg; PETG and ABS run a little higher; TPU, ASA and nylon cost more again.

The list covers 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm spools sold on Amazon.com. Use the filters to narrow it to one material, one diameter or one spool size, and the cheapest per-kg option in that group is always at the top.
